Class Requirements
Each class has a specific list of equipment and/or knitting pieces that you need to bring with you. You will be supplied with this list at registration.

Class Registration
Because we often have waiting lists for the classes, we require tuition to be paid when you register. You may register in person or over the phone with a credit card. For more information or if you have any question or comments please click here and use our online form.

Refund Policy
Refunds will be offered only under the following conditions:
  • Class cancellation by instructor (full refund)
  • If withdrawing from a class before it starts, no refund can be offered unless a replacement student is registered and paid
  • No refunds are available for any reason once the class has started
The refund policy is strictly enforced so that we do not have to turn people away from a class especially when there is a waiting list.

The Wool Emporium will be offering a Quick Start workshop to help beginners learn the basic techniques of knitting. Create a scarf in an interactive friendly atmosphere in this two hour session. Cost $30.00 Time: 2-4pm

Beginners Knitting
Tues 7-9pm April 24 - May 29, 2012

Beginners knit a child size 4 sweater. Learn how to cast on & off, knit & purl, increase & decrease, rib, graft, use circular and double pointed needles. Cost $100 + tax (includes approx $52 in materials).
Beginners Crochet
Wed 7-9pm Feb 29 – Mar 28, 2012

Learn the basic crochet stitches plus pattern stitches while you create eight different squares. You will also learn two different methods of sewing the squares together to make a cushion cover. Cost $70 + tax (includes yarn & hook).
Aran Stitches
Wed 7–9pm Apr 3, 2012

Learn the basics of cables, twisted and crossed stitches that form the basis of Aran Knitting. Cost $25 + tax
More Crochet Stitches
Tues 7–9pm Jan 3 - 31, 2012

Now that you have conquered all the crochet stitches in the beginners class you are ready to move on. Learn how to increase & decrease, work with colour, crochet ribbing plus a few other new stitches. Cost $70.00 + tax (includes yarn).
Basic Socks
Thur 7-9pm Mar 22 – Apr 12, 2012

Knit both socks at the same time, not only do you reinforce the techniques you learn but you also have a finished pair of socks! Cost $60 + tax (includes yarn).
Finishing Techniques
Tues 7–9pm Mar 1 - 8, 2012

Finishing can make or break a garment. Learn invisible seaming, three needle cast off, grafting, button holes, plus knitting techniques that make finishing much easier. Cost $45 + tax.
Basic Mitts
Tues 7-9pm Feb 14 – Mar 6, 2012

Learn the basics of Mitt knitting including thumb gussets, thumbs and grafting. You will have a warm pair of mitts by the end of the class. Cost $60 + tax (includes yarn).
Intro To Needle Felting
Tues 7–9pm Apr 17, 2012

No water or wash board required. Learn the basic techniques to create felted toys, bags, pictures, appliquι, mitts, socks, and embellishment. Cost $25 + tax + Kit Fee ($25).
Zu-ken Mitts
Sat Mar 17 and Mar 31, 2012

Learn to Zu-ken hook the warmest mitts & slippers from our local expert. Cost per class $225 + tax (Includes Zu-ken Hook, yarn & fibre)
Needle Tatting
Sat 10:00–3:00pm TBA

Elegant & delicate, the heritage art of tatting with a needle pre-dates shuttle tatting and is much easier to learn & understand! Spend the afternoon with Joan and learn a new craft. Cost $40 + tax (includes needle & cotton).
Knit With Beads
Wed 7–9pm Apr 18, 2012

Learn to knit a bracelet with beads – strung and unstrung. Cost $35 + tax (Includes yarn & beads)
Fairisle & Intarsia
Thur 7-10pm Apr 26, 2012

Learn how to knit fairisle and weave in your floats without tangling up your yarns. Picture knits look intimidating but the technique is a lot easier than you think. Cost $30 + tax.
Thrummed Mitts
Thur 7-9pm Jan 26 - Feb 9, 2012

Learn how to knit mitts with a wooly cloud inside to make them warmer and more wind resistant. Cost $50 + tax (Includes yarn & thrums).
Rug Hooking

Learn the art of traditional Acadian Rug Hooking using strips of wool and burlap. Cost $37 + tax, Kit Fee $25
Felted Soap Bars

UFO Nights
Friday Dec 23 - Pot Luck Night, Jan 9, Jan 27, Feb 6, Feb 24, Mar 12, Mar 23, Apr 13, Apr 23, May 11, May 28, June 8, June 18

If you need a few hours away from interruptions or just spend some time with others who share your passion for handwork, this is the night for you. The evenings will begin at 5pm, we will be bringing in pizza, tea will be available or you can bring your own liquid refreshments. There will be a $10 per person charge to help cover costs.
